Earlene ‘Betty’ Negro

NILES – Earlene “Betty” Negro, 86, passed away peacefully at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2014, at the Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home, Niles.

She was born May 23, 1928, in Warren, the daughter of Norris and Pauline Yencer Hake, and lived in this community her entire life.

She was a homemaker and cared for her family, children and grandchildren. She enjoyed and cherished all the time spent with her kids throughout their lives. From toddlers to adults, she loved watching and being involved in their activities.

Betty is survived by four children, Ernest L. Negro Jr. of Lordstown, and David E. (Susan) Negro, Richard E. (Patricia) Negro and Rita L. (Jeff) Riedel, all of Niles; eight grandchildren, Regina (Pedro) Orellana, Christopher (Rachael Baiduc) Negro, Michael Negro, Tyler Negro, Jenifer Riedel, Sydney Negro, Julie Riedel and Dylan Negro; great-grandson, Pedrito Orellana; and a brother, Donald (Sally) Hake of Pittsburgh.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest L. Negro Sr., whom she married on May 23, 1958, and who died on Oct. 29, 1994; and two brothers, Robert Hake and Claude Hake.

At her request, there are no calling hours or funeral service. Cremation will take place and burial will be in Niles City Cemetery with her husband.
