David E. Williams

LORDSTOWN – David E. Williams, 82, passed away on Sunday morning June 8, 2014, at his residence.

He was born April 30, 1932, in Warren, the son of Harry “Huddy” and Sadie Williams and lived in this community most of his life.

He was a 1950 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and honorably served in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Nevada during the period of history of the atomic bomb testing.

He retired in 1987 as a member of Teamsters Local 377 and driving for Dworkin Trucking in Cleveland.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Niles and enjoyed fishing, John Wayne movies and his dog ”Mindi” and cat ”Squirt.”

David is survived by his wife Peggy Mann Williams, whom he married on July 3, 1956; son, Mark Williams and fiancee Cathy of Newton Falls; two daughters, Karen (Donald) Mullenax of Warren and Nancy (Adam Jr.) Frederick of Niles; and six grandchildren, Eric Williams, Cory Williams, Jenna Frederick, Jordan Frederick, and twins Hailey and Hannah Frederick.

Calling hours will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014, at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2014, First Baptist Church, Niles, where family and friends may also call one hour prior to the service. Pastor David Burman Jr. will officiate.

Burial will be in Lordstown Cemetery with Military Honors.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lordstown Lions Club.
