Yvonne Wishart

NEWTON FALLS – Yvonne Wishart, 71, of Newton Falls, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 8, 2014, after a courageous battle with emphysema.

She was born Nov. 5, 1942, in Warren, the daughter of the late Harold and Ruby Redmond.

Yvonne had many different occupations over the years, but being a loving homemaker and mother was the best of all. She taught herself to sew at a very young age, and enjoyed attending craft shows and displaying her beautiful creations.

She had a very special love for her cats, Buddy and Buttons. Their companionship helped her through many difficult days during her illness.

Yvonne’s greatest accomplishment in life was taking care of and spending time with her five daughters. She strived to give her girls the best she possibly could. In their eyes, she was the best “mom” in the world.

She was united in marriage to Charles Wishart on Aug. 26, 1976. He was the love of her life. He preceded her in death Dec. 5, 2009. They were married 34 wonderful years.

Yvonne leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her four daughters, Rosemarie (Jim) Roby of Champion, Tina (Gerry) Whittaker of Newton Falls, Denise (Keith) Phelps of Lordstown and Yvonne Colley of Newton Falls, with whom she made her home; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dennis Redmond of Warren and Dale (Theresa) Redmond of Hartford; and a sister, Jeannette Gress of Warren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her loving daughter, Roberta Karnes; her great-granddaughter, Aubree Vertrees; and a brother, Allen Redmond.

A funeral service celebrating Yvonne’s life will be held 5 p.m. Monday at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, with calling hours two hours prior to the service. Pastor Dan Houck will be officiating.

According to Yvonne’s wishes, cremation will follow.

The family would like to express their appreciation to All Caring Hospice, and special thanks to Dawn Schultz, R.N., for her loving care to our mother.
