Thomas J. Andamasaris
WARREN – Thomas James Andamasaris, 85, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at his residence in Warren.
He was born on April 5, 1929, in Chartiers, Pa., a son of James L. and Irene Kanatos Andamasaris.
Thomas retired from Republic Steel after 38 years and he was an active member of the USO.
He was a lifetime member of St. Demetrios Orthodox Church.
Tom was a veteran of the United States Navy and had served on the USS Goodrich.
He was always very proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Tom’s family would like to give a special thank you to all of the exceptional caregivers who were there to assist them during his illness.
Thomas is survived by his four children, Tula (George) Monides of Clearwater, Fla., James T. (Jeannie) Andamasaris of Howland, William T. (Luana) Andamasaris of Warren and Irene (Bob) Gilmour of St. Petersburg, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Harriet K. Andamasaris; parents; and two brothers.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 429 High St. N.E., with an hour of calling beginning at 10 a.m. at the church. The Rev. Constantine Valantasis will officiate. Calling hours will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Drive N.E., Warren, where there will be a Trisaghion service at 6 p.m.
Entombment will follow in Crown Hill Burial Park Mausoleum in Vienna.
