Robert J. Noble

BRISTOLVILLE – Robert John Noble, 76, of Mecca Township, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at his residence, after a long fight with cancer.

He was born March 3, 1938, in Linesville, Pa., the son of Elton C. and Mary K. Slusar Noble, and had lived in Trumbull County since 1960.

A 1955 graduate of Linesville Conneaut Summit High School in Linesville, he graduated from Ohio Northern University in 1960 with a bachelor of science in civil engineering.

He became registered as a professional engineer and surveyor in 1964 in the states of Ohio and Pennsylvania. He served as president of the Trumbull County Society of Professional Engineers in 1967. He became a partner in Lynn, Kittinger and Noble, Inc., Consulting Engineers in 1970 and retired as president in 1999.

Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, gardening, camping, his grandchildren and spending the winters in their Florida home at Lake Placid.

He was a member of Grace Fellowship Church in Howland.

He was also a 10-gallon blood donor for the Red Cross. He was a former member of Carroll F. Clapp Lodge of F. & A. Masons, and a member of the Warren Rotary Club, where he was a Paul Harris fellow.

Bob is survived by his wife, Mary A. Blackshere, whom he married April 15, 1988; and his children, Bruce (Theresa) Noble of Martinsburg, W.Va., Barbara (Kenneth) Ryle of Roanoke, Va., Robert (Sharlena) Linger of Champion, Brenda (James) Goelz and Brian (Michelle) Linger of Bristolville; 17 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

His parents preceded him in death.

Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home where the funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday. Pastor Roy Mack will officiate.

Burial will be in Brownwood Cemetery in North Bloomfield.
