Louise Groner-Burke

HONOLULU – Louise Groner-Burke, formerly of Warren, passed away Feb. 8, 2014, at St. John Medical Center in Santa Monica, Calif.

Louise, born Sept. 11, 1927, in Allentown, Pa., was the daughter of Esther Kriner Albright and Amandas Albright.

She lived in Warren for several years with her husband, Dr. Lloyd Groner, and her daughter, Mary Ann Groner. Lloyd preceded her in death. Following Lloyd’s death, she moved to Pacific Palisades, Calif. For the past 13 years, she has resided in Hawaii with her husband, John L. Burke.

Louise was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and was an active supporter of The Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County, the humane care of animals being a primary concern during her life.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Groner of Pacific Palisades, Calif.; husband, John L. Burke of Honolulu; as well as a sister, Carolyn Albright Long of Allentown, Pa.

Also preceding her in death were infant son Michael Groner and a sister, Ann Albright Miley.

A memorial service for Louise will be held 11:30 a.m. May 16 in Greenwood Cemetery in Allentown, Pa. A celebration of Louise’s life will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. May 16 at the Brass Rail, also located in Allentown, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County at 812 Youngstown Kingsville Road S.E., Vienna, OH 44473, or the Greater Western Reserve Council, Boy Scouts of America, 4930 Enterprise Blvd. N.W., Warren, OH 44481.

Funeral arrangements are in the care of Gates Kingsley and Gates Moeller Murphy Mortuary in Santa Monica, Calif.
