LaDonna L. Bissell

MINERAL RIDGE – LaDonna L. Bissell, 80, of Mineral Ridge, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014, at her daughter Nora’s residence, with her loving family by her side.

LaDonna was born Aug. 4, 1933, in Niles, to parents Clifford and Annabelle James Blackson.

LaDonna married her childhood sweetheart, Kenneth Arden Bissell Sr., on March 1, 1951. Together they had three wonderful children and shared more than 41 years of marriage before his passing on May 11, 1992.

LaDonna was a devout Christian and supporter of the Grace Church of the Nazarene. Her love for the Bible, musical hymns and her faith was well known by all who came in contact with her.

She loved music and playing the piano, which legacy she passed on to all three of her children.

LaDonna was also noted for her love of writing poetry and was a local author of the book “God is Faithful.” Her greatest love was her grandchildren and the time she shared with each of them.

LaDonna will be greatly missed by those who survive her, her sons, Ken (Cheri) Bissell Jr. of Mineral Ridge and Lesley (Bonnie) Bissell of Brookfield; daughter, Nora (Tim) Jamison of Berlin Center; grandchildren, Corrie, Bissell and Bethany (Brenton) Beck, Benjamin Bissell, Josh (Emily) Jamison, and Becca Jamison; and great-grandson, Micah Beck.

LaDonna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother, Clifford Ray Blackson Jr.

Visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Church of the Nazarene, 5253 Webb Road, Youngstown. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Interment will be held at Kerr Cemetery, Weathersfield.
