Judith I. Nicastro

NILES – Judith I. Nicastro, 68, of Niles died Saturday, April 26, 2014, at The Cleveland Clinic.

She was born Feb. 17, 1946, in Youngstown, the daughter of Nathan and Mildred Schermer Gallup.

She was a 1964 graduate of Youngstown South High School, and was employed for 20 years at Equitable Insurance and eight years at Summerfield Appliances, retiring in 2011.

She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, and was involved in the Mount Carmel Society.

Judy was a eucharistic minister, festival volunteer, and helped the church by selling pizzas and serving community suppers. She was also a member and past president of The Insurance Women of Mahoning County.

She will be deeply missed by her husband, Anthony Nicastro, whom she married Sept. 19, 1979; a son, Mark (Rebecca) Mangiarelli of Cincinnati; and a granddaughter, Savannah Mangiarelli. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son, Anthony Nicastro.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. John-Michael Lavelle officiating.
