Eura E. Maher

WARREN – Eura Estaline Maher passed away on Friday, May 2, 2014 in the Community Skilled Health Care Centre in Warren.

Eura was born on Jan. 8, 1927 in Upshur County, W.Va., the daughter of Harry and Marge Tenney Riggs.

She had been employed at Liberty Steel in the shell plant during the Korean War. Previously Eura had worked at another facility to support the war effort during World War II.

Eura was an avid reader and enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Memories of Eura will be carried on by her caring son and daughter-in-law, Gohen and Carolyn Maher; her sons-in-law, Sid and Woody; her grandchildren, Jeremy, Shane, Shannon and Julie and her five great-grandchildren.

Preceding Eura were her husband, Gohen, whom she married in 1947; her two daughters, Brenda and Judith; her grandson, David; her brother, Jerry and her sisters, Melba, Anabelle and Barbara.

A graveside service will be held at the Hillside Cemetery in Cortland at a later date for family and friends.

Friends wishing to honor Eura may make material tributes in her memory to the American Heart Association or to the Cancer Foundation.

Arrangements for Eura were entrusted to the Borowski Funeral Service and Oak Meadow Cremation Services.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gohen; two daughters Brenda and Judith; a grandson; a brother and three sisters.
