Elijah M. Coley
HUBBARD – Elijah M. Coley, 81, of Hubbard, died Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Youngstown.
He was born Sept. 21, 1932, in Pinsonfork, Ky., the son of Elijah L. and Suzie Runyan Coley.
Elijah retired as a truck driver, owning his own trucking company. He was a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Liberty Township. Elijah was U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, the former Shirley Slone; four children, Danny Coley of Girard, Steve Coley of Hubbard, Shelby Trumphour of Hubbard and Bonnie Franklin of Hubbard; two sisters, Peggy Chaney and Carol Smith; a brother, Jack Coley; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, three brothers and a great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Elijah will be laid to rest in Hubbard Union Cemetery with military honors.
