Wilbert A. Brown

LIBERTY – Wilbert A. Brown, 91, formerly of Liberty, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014, at Signature Health Care in Warren.

Wilbert was born Oct. 5, 1922, in Elizabeth, Pa., the son of Donald A. and Catherine Mathilda Schultz Brown.

He was a welder for 34 years at General Fireproofing in Youngstown, retiring in 1982.

He was a member of Liberty Presbyterian Church.

Wilbert was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II in North Africa and southern Italy.

He loved spending time with his granddaughter. He enjoyed riding his John Deere and cutting his grass and riding his golf cart. He also liked his tools and working in his garage.

His wife, the former Maryalice Walker, whom he married Sept. 22, 1952, passed away Nov. 4, 1990.

He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Claudia Brown of Hubbard; and his granddaughter, Katie Ladig. He also leaves his brother, Russell (Beverly) Brown of Hubbard, and his sister-in-law, LaRue Brown of Liberty.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, and a brother, Donald E. Brown.

There will be services held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home. Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m.today and one hour prior to service Wednesday at Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home.

Wilbert will be laid to rest at Belmont Park Cemetery.
