Patricia A. Richards
CORTLAND – Patricia Ann Richards, 85, of Cortland, passed away Monday, April 14, 2014, at her residence.
She was born Oct. 24, 1928, in Cleveland, a daughter of the late Earl Frank and Emma May Porter Grow.
She married Arthur Richards on Dec. 7, 1946.
She was a graduate of Warren G. Harding and worked for Warner Co., Carlisle, Tribune, March of Dimes and Automobile Club for 10 years, along with being a homemaker.
Patricia was involved in the following organizations, Girl Scout leader, den mother for Cub Scouts, and was a member of Warren Women’s Republican Club and was president for a couple of terms. Besides being with her family, she enjoyed cooking.
Besides her loving husband of 67 years, Arthur John Richards of Cortland, she is survived by her daughters, Janice (Wynn) Henrey of Warren and Donna White of Lexington, S.C.; son, John Porter Richards of Charleston, W.Va.; sister, Ruth Costello Friley of Winter Haven, Fla.; grandchildren, David (Teresa) White, Donald (Tracy) White, Jennifer Gwin, Bruce (Kelley) Henrey, Brian Henrey, Zachary (Megan) Richards, Adam Richards and Mallory Richards; and great-grandchildren, Alex, Matt and Kyle White, Dana, Donald and Logan White, Kendall and Wallace Mixson, Gabrielle and Julia Gwin, Brooke Henrey, and Abraham and John Richards.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Elizabeth Kovach; and son-in-law, Donald White.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
