Millard P. Cayavec

NILES – Millard Paul Cayavec, 79, passed away Tuesday evening, April 15, 2014, at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren.

He was born June 27, 1934, in Yellow Dog, Pa., a son of William and Katherine Magamore Cayavec.

He graduated from Worthington High School in Worthington, Pa., graduated from Youngstown College with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Millard worked as a supervisor at McDonald U.S. Steel for many years before retiring on Aug. 1, 1997. After retirement he worked as the office administrative for his son, Dr. Paul Michael Cayavec.

He was a member of Our Lady Mount Carmel Parish and Knights of Columbus in Niles. In his spare time he enjoyed reading books, watching and listening to sports on the radio, and loved going to Mountaineer and Vegas.

He will be missed by his two sons, Dr. Paul Michael Cayavec and Jeffrey Paul Cayavec of Niles; one grandson, Jeffrey Joseph Cayavec of Niles; two brothers, William (Marcy) Cayavec of Florida and Thomas (Judith) Cayavec of Howland; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carmella Naples Cayavec, whom he married May 2, 1959; and one sister, Mary Jane (Frank) Horvat.

Friends and family may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Lane Family Funeral Home, 415 Robbins Ave., Niles, OH 44446, located next to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish.

Funeral services will be held for Millard at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, 381 Robbins Ave., Niles, OH 44446, with officiated by Father Lavelle.

Interment will take place at St. Stephen’s Cemetery in Niles.
