John S. Danko
WARREN – John S. Danko, 79, passed away Monday, April 28, 2014, at his home.
He was born April 25, 1935, in Warren, a son of the late John and Helen Redilla Danko.
He married Gloria Szabo on May 23, 1964.
He was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and was employed as a steelworker with Republic Steel Corp. for 42 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
John was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He enjoyed sports, traveling, gardening and loved listening to polka music.
Memories of John will be carried on by his loving wife of 49 years, Gloria Danko of Warren; daughter, Melissa (Bob) Gipson of Champion; two grandchildren, Steven and Marissa Gipson; two brothers, Michael Danko of Damascus, Md. and Donald Danko of Canfield; and two sisters, Delores Oney of Hartford and Evelyn Cerny of Phoenix.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, John E. Danko; and brother, James Danko.
Private services will be held Friday at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where the Rev. Andrew Deskevich will officiate. Interment will be in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
