Jerry L. Dieter
BRACEVILLE – Jerry Lynn Dieter, 65, of Braceville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 30, 2014, at the Laurie Ann Nursing Home in Newton Falls.
He was born on Feb. 6, 1949, in Warren, the son of Ralph Jacob Dieter and Isabella L. Dawson Dieter.
Jerry graduated from Braceville High School in 1967 and attended Kent State University for three years. He then was drafted into the U.S. Air Force. After his return, Jerry then worked at Packard Electric (Delphi) for 30 years.
Jerry was a member of the Mahoning Valley Civil War Round Table. He loved cooking and photography.
Jerry was a member of the Braceville Christian Church. Jerry taught Sunday school, vacation Bible school, and was a trustee at the church. Jerry helped maintain the grounds around the church, paying special attention to the flower beds. Jerry also was part of the construction to the new addition to the church.
Loving memories of Jerry will be carried on by his mother, Isabella L. Dieter of Braceville; his sister and brother-in-law, Donna (James) Fait of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Randal (Patricia) Dieter of Braceville and Alan (Phyllis) Dieter of Warsaw; and his stepbrother, M. Ralph (Alberta) Dieter of Bedford, N.H.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Ralph J. Dieter.
Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday at the Braceville Christian Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1 p.m. The Rev. Jon Pratt will officiate.
Jerry will be laid to rest beside his father Ralph at Braceville Cemetery.
