Harriet Reeves

AKRON – Harriet Colwell Reeves died Saturday, April 26, 2014 in Akron.

She was born in 1915 in Atlanta, the daughter of David and Alice Colwell.

She graduated from Fairfax Hall in Virginia and Lasell College in Massachusetts.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, the Women’s Board of Summa Health System, and Portage Country Club.

Preceded in death by her dear husband of 55 years, Robert, Harriet is survived by her daughters, Ann (Robert) Burton of Akron, Nancy (Gary) Peterson of Centerville, Alice (William) Hood of Philadelphia and Kathryn (Robert) Shroder of Howland; “Fritz” was adored by grandchildren, John Robert Schmid Jr., Lindsey Kindt, Kelly Meyl, Scott Peterson, Michael and Kathryn Hood, and Brian, Laura and Matthew Shroder; and nine great-grandchildren.

”The family is so grateful to the caregivers who shared their lives and friendship with Mom, particularly Roy, Barb, Brenda, Marlene, Terry and Lynn. Her life was enriched because of you and we thank you.”

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. May 24 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Amjad Samuel and the Rev. Dr. Michael Petrochuk officiating.

Private committal will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.

There are no calling hours.
