Frederick W. Thomas

HUBBARD – Frederick W. Thomas, 88, died Friday, March 28, 2014, at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach, Fla.

He was born Aug. 22, 1925, in Hubbard, the son of Howard A. and Effie McFetridge Thomas.

Frederick retired as a traffic manager for Republic Steel in Youngstown. He was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church of Hubbard.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, the former Jacquelyn McGuire; a son, William J. Thomas of DeBary, Fla.; a daughter, Ann E. Thomas of Littleton, Colo.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church of Hubbard. Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

Frederick will be laid to rest in Hubbard Union Cemetery with full military honors provided by Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard.
