Douglas P. Centafanti

NORTH JACKSON – Douglas P. Centafanti Sr., 56, died Tuesday, April 1, 2014, from injuries he sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Douglas was born Jan. 22, 1958, in Youngstown, the son of James and Nancy Huish Centafanti.

He was a mechanic by trade, working at Redlich Transmission Service in Youngstown for 20 years. He then owned and operated Doug’s Transmission in North Jackson.

Doug was a member of St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church in Austintown.

Mr. Centafanti is survived by his wife, Georgette Baker Centafanti; four sons, Douglas P. Centafanti Jr. of Kentucky, James Centafanti of Youngstown, D.J. Polchies of North Jackson, and Matthew Centafanti of Marion; two granddaughters; two brothers, James Centafanti of Austintown and Mark Centafanti of Niles; five sisters, Cindy Candiotta of Sharpsville, Pa., Jaci Forgac of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Judy Scott of Niles, Lisa Maynard of Youngstown and Joyce Cahill of Youngstown.

His parents preceded him in death.

Family and friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. today at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church in Austintown, where funeral services will follow at 2 p.m.
