WARREN – Cecil Blackshear, 79, died Friday, April 25, 2014, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 22, 1934, in Canton, the son of Harry and Eva Langley Blackshear Sr.
Cecil retired from Packard Electric Corp in 1993 as an electrical engineer and had previously worked at NASA Lewis Research Center. He attended DeVry School of Engineering in Chicago.
He was a 32nd degree Mason and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed fishing, cooking and collecting recipes.
Left to cherish his loving memory is his wife, Vivian L. Blackshear; two daughters, Tracey M. (Thomas J.) Kramer of Columbus and Kelly V. (Ronald L.) Hill of Euclid; a brother, William “Bill” Blackshear of Canton; two sisters, Rosetta Nicholson and Thelma Jo Blackshear, both of Alliance; two grandchildren, Rhayna Von Kramer and Jovonah Lynn Kramer, both of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Harry Blackshear Jr.
A service of Christian Burial will be held at noon Friday at First Baptist Church of Braceville, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. The family will also receive friends at 2242 Hewitt Gifford Road S.W., the home of his wife.
Burial will be at Braceville Township Cemetery.
