Thelma J. Riedman

CHAMPION – Thelma Jane Leeworthy Riedman, 79, of Champion Township, entered peacefully into the arms of the Lord at 1:20 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2014, at the Community Skilled Care Center in Warren following a brief illness.

Thelma was born Feb. 15, 1935, in Orwell, the daughter of Harley and Emma Fay Hopkins Leeworthy, and had resided most of her life in the Champion area.

She was a 1953 graduate of Champion High School, a homemaker and a member of the Champion Baptist Church.

Thelma was a very thoughtful and giving person, very dedicated and active in the church. She enjoyed decorating and making cards for the nursing home patients and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

On Nov. 2, 1959, Thelma was united into marriage with James Edward Riedman and had shared 54 loving years together.

Her memories will be remembered and cherished by those she leaves behind, her husband, James E.; sons, Paul A. (Kim) Riedman of Guyton, Ga., James E. Riedman Jr. and Robert I. Riedman both of Warren, and Michael J. (Donna) Riedman of London, Ky.; daughters, Tammy F. Riedman of Cocoa Beach, Fla., Penny I. (Frank) Augustus of South Charleston, Ohio, Vicki F. (Chris) Nelson of Houston; brothers, Donald (Sue) Leeworthy of California and James Leeworthy of Champion; 15 grandchilden; and five great-grandchildren.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Harley Leeworthy Jr. and Edward Leeworthy.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, April 5, 2014, at the Champion Baptist Church, 556 Center St. West, Warren, Ohio 44481. Officiating will be the Rev. Keith Easton.
