Leroy P. Mansfield

WARREN – Leroy Purl Mansfield, 85, of Warren, died Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at his residence.

He was born Jan. 30, 1929, in Nelson Township, son of Purl V. and Ida Parks Mansfield.

Leroy served in the U.S. Marines in the Korean War. He married Maxine J. Lynn June 3, 1950, and they were married 33 years before she died July 19, 1983.

He was a steel worker at Republic Steel in Warren for 33 years and retired in 1981. A longtime resident of Trumbull County, he lived in California since 1985 and moved to Warren in 1990.

He was a member of K of P Lodge #373 in West Farmington and AFL-CIO Local 1375 in Warren.

He will be missed by his friends and family; two sons, William (Rebecca) Mansfield of Warren and Michael Mansfield of Cortland; his daughter, Terri Mansfield of Leavittsburg; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; his brother, Delmar of Warren; and his sister, Thelma Baxter of Warren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maxine; his sister, Altheda Finch; and five brothers, Kenneth, Miles, Bruce, Charles and Howard.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in Meadow Brook Memorial Park, 1211 State Road, Champion Township, OH 44481.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Russell Funeral Service, 15670 W. High St. (Route 87), Middlefield, OH.
