Charles A. Knapp 1917-2014
MASURY – Charles “Chuck” A. Knapp, 96, of Masury, died Monday evening, March 17, 2014, at O’Brien Memorial Care Center following a brief illness.
He was born Aug. 14, 1917, in Sharon, Pa., the son of Charles and Florence Frasier Knapp.
Charles served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the European Theater of Operations during World War II. He retired as a machine operator at Westinghouse, and was a member of the Masury United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three children, Martha Jacobson of Masury, Nancy E. Yakubek of Howland and Andrew of Brookfield; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Miller, two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Madasz Chapel of Lane Family Funeral Homes in Brookfield. Friends may call two hours prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Hermitage, Pa.
