Wilma C. Crisp 1929-2014

MINERAL RIDGE – Wilma Christine Crisp, 84, of Vista Center, formerly of Nash Street, Niles, passed away at 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31 in Vista Center.

Mrs. Crisp was born Sept. 5, 1929, in Soldier, Ky., a daughter of Ollie and Ada Clark Royse, moving to Niles in the year of the building of the 5th Street Bridge. She was a past member of the Top Ten Club, and her true enjoyment in life was being with her family at her home.

Her husband, William “Willie” Crisp, whom she married Oct. 11, 1946, preceded her in death on Aug. 5, 2010. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Pearl Stevens, and brothers, Billy, Benny, Clayton, and twins Chester and Clester Royse.

Wilma is survived by her daughters, Betty Ann Brown, of Weathersfield Township, Joyce Bates and her husband Paul, of Canfield, Kathy Haas, of Weathersfield Township; her sons, William Crisp, and his wife Bonnie, of Niles, Robert Crisp, of Newton Falls; a sister, Delores Barker, in Indiana; her brothers, Elmer Royse, of Newton Falls, Paul Royse, in Texas, Daniel Royse, in Kentucky; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. in the First Church of God, 1026 Salt Springs Road, Mineral Ridge, with the Rev. Wes Cluckley officiating, where friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of the service in the church. Burial will be in Kerr Cemetery.

The family wishes to acknowledge with heartfelt appreciation their thanks for the personal and professional care provided to Wilna by the Vista Center and Harbor Light Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that material tributes take the form of contributions to Harbor Light Hospice, 4531 Belmont Ave., Youngstown, 44505.
