Timothy V. Liebal 1941-2014

WARREN – Timothy V. “Tim” Liebal, 72, of Warren, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at his residence.

Tim was born June 7, 1941, in LaPort, Ind., the son of Leo and Mildred Liebal.

He was a 1959 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. He retired in 2002 from Packard Electric as a millwright after 30 years.

Tim was a founding and a 50-year member of Westside Maple Leaf, Warren VFW Post 1090, Army & Navy Post 426, Itam Lodge 29, Slovak Club and Warren Moose. Tim enjoyed golf, bowling and playing cards.

Tim was in the U.S. Army Reserves.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Jean Liebal, whom he married Dec. 31, 1961; three children, Kimberly Ann Liebal (Tim) Blasko of Warren, Patricia (Gareth) Erwin of Columbus and Michele (Scott) Abel of Warren; two grandchildren, Vincent and Kasey Erwin; two brothers, Terry (Shari) Liebal of Cedar Hills, Texas, and Jerry (Tammy) Liebal of Warren; and two sisters, Connie (Dan) Hearn of Oklahoma and Pammy Jo Liebal of Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday and 10:30 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Road N.E., Warren. A service will be 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. James P. Walker officiating.

Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that contributions be made in Tim’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project, 1120 G St. N.W., Suite 700, Washington, DC 20005.
