Sue Lewis, 1937-2014

NILES – Sue Lewis, 76, of Niles, went home to be with the Lord at 12:25 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at Hospice House of Poland.

She was born on Sept. 5, 1937, in Shinnston, W.Va., the daughter of the late Linzey and Stella Sandy Mackey.

Mrs. Lewis enjoyed bird feeding and bird watching, oil painting and reading.

Survivors include her four children, Charles (Ona Marie) Lewis of Norwalk, Douglas (Venesa) Lewis of Maple Park, Ill., Shannon (Gary) Fritch of Brookfield and Brian Lewis of Niles; eight grandchildren, John Fritch, Jeremy Lewis, Susan Fritch, and Vincent, Robert, Anthony, Nathan and Brandon Lewis; and seven great-grandchildren, Caleb and Connor Fritch, Christian, Dylan, Zander and Zaden Lewis, and Sofia Grace Wilms. Two siblings are also surviving, Olive Lee Smith and Wayne Mackey.

Other than her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. “Bobby” Lewis, on April 10, 2013 – they were united in marriage on July 1, 1957; her son, Edward in 1967; and her siblings, Robert and Lloyde Mackey and Naomi White.

Sue’s family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Drive N.E., Warren.

Funeral services will be private.

Burial will take place in Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna.
