William C. Johnson 1942-2013

WARREN – William (Bill) Charles Johnson, 70, passed away Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

He was born Nov. 14, 1942 in Warren, a son of Evelyn K. Wagers Johnson and the late Charles E. “Chuck” Johnson.

William married Carole Laverne (Dick) Johnson on Sept. 30, 1977.

He was a graduate of Leavittsburg High School, and was employed as a tow motor operator at Packard Electric Division of GM for 43 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army National Guard.

Bill loved electronics, gadgets, shortwave radios, TVs and woodworking. He also enjoyed playing cards and watching movies. Bill always loved to laugh and his smile would light up a room. Bill was a good singer and enjoyed singing in the choir.

Bill will be sadly missed by his wife, Carole Johnson of Southington; daughter, Melissa (Kevin) K. Taylor of Westminster, Colo.; daughter, Laverne (Richard) Goldner of Southington; son, Rory Allen of North Canton; and grandchildren, Brad and Brent Gamlin. He also leaves behind his sister, Kay (David) Romack of Champion, and mother, Evelyn K. Johnson of Windsor House of Champion.

He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Janie Jo.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with Pastor John S. Mizgerd officiating.
