Russell E. Bigley

WARREN – Russell E. “Rusty” Bigley, 60, died unexpectedly on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2013, at home.

He was born Sept. 27, 1953, in Connellsville, Pa., a son of Betty Butler Bigley of Scottdale, Pa., and the late William E. Bigley.

He was a graduate of Connellsville Area High School and the Electronics Institute in Cuyahoga Falls, and was currently a student at National College, Warren, in computer science. He was self-employed as a computer programmer.

He attended Champion Baptist Church in Warren.

He was a volunteer and spent many hours at local non-profit organizations.

Russell leaves behind, in addition to his mother, a wife of 16 years, Linda Gillingham Baer-Bigley; three children, Brenda Papoi of Sitka, Alaska, Chad (Nolena) Bigley and Bryan Bigley of Apple Creek; stepchildren, Keith, James, Brett, Kenneth and Matthew Baer, and Karen Ross; six grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; brothers, James Bigley of Warren, Marvin Bigley of Maryville, Tenn., and John (Cindy) Bigley of Connellsville; sisters, Kathy (Jesse) Ansell of Connellsville, Sandy (Curt) McCullers of Scottdale, Wanda (Allen) Harvell of Cheltenham, Md., Nancy Ruff of Connellsville and Ellen (Sam) Kuntz of Jefferson, Ga.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a brother, William E. Bigley.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Brooks Funeral Home Inc., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. Robert Bixel officiating.

Interment will follow in the Pennsville Independent Cemetery.
