Angelo V. Trinckes 1921-2013

BROOKFIELD – Angelo V. Trinckes, 92, of Brookfield, passed away at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at his home following a brief illness.

Mr. Trinckes was born on March 15, 1921, in Brookfield, to Joseph and Carmella Palmer Trinckes.

Following his graduation from Brookfield High School in 1940, Angelo went into the service on Sept. 4, 1942, serving his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps until his discharge on Jan. 9, 1946. He was discharged, having attained the rank of sergeant, and had served in the Pacific Theater, including New Guinea, Leyte Gulf and Luzon. For his service he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Service Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal with three Bronze Stars and the World War II Victory Medal.

Following his discharge, he worked as a carpenter and cement finisher with his brother Tony. He worked as lab technician at G.A.T.X. Chemical Waste Treatment Plant in Masury for more than 27 years before his retirement in 1982.

Mr. Trinckes leaves behind his two sons, Vincent A. (Pamela) Trinckes of Hubbard and Daniel S. (Christine) Trinckes of Brookfield; brother, Tony (Theresa) Trinckes of Brookfield; and sister, Mary Palombi of Brookfield. Also surviving are his nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife of more than 60 years, the former Patricia A. Barker; his parents; his brother, Felix Trinckes; his twin sister, Veronica Trinckes; and his brother-in-law, Phillip Palombi.

At Mr. Trinckes’ request, a private Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community (St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church) in Masury with the Rev. Frank Zanni as pastor.

Burial will follow in Brookfield Township Cemetery.
