NILES – Joan J. Ifft, 81, of Niles, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2013 at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Home.
She was born Feb. 1, 1932, in Berlin Center, the daughter of William and Violet Kime Leith.
Joan was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Niles, Niles Football Mothers, volunteered at the family business at Avon Oaks Ballroom in Girard, and enjoyed dancing, crocheting and ceramics.
She will be deeply missed by her husband, William Ifft Sr., whom she married Jan. 6, 1954; a daughter, Jodie Sterchi of Niles; a son, William (Renee) Ifft Jr. of McDonald; a sister, Sandra Thomason of Howland; four grandchildren, Brian (Michelle) Sterchi, Ryan Ifft, Cameron Ifft and Nathan Ifft; and two stepdaughters, Sherida (Glen) Risner of Rudolph and Beth Harkins of Niles.
She was preceded in death by a sister Donna Jean Ravella.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church of Niles. Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church of Niles with Pastor Cindy Carlisle officiating.
Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery
