James A. Hronchek 1952-2013
KOKOMO, Ind. – Surrounded by love, James Anthony Hronchek, 61, passed away at home on Monday, Sept. 30, 2013.
Jim was born in Warren, Ohio, on Jan. 15, 1952, the son of Anthony S. Hronchek and Katherine J. (Fallon) Hronchek of Warren.
He married Chandra Gambill in 1976 and they spent 37 wonderful and eventful years together.
He was the loving father to three sons, U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Brian J. Hronchek of Jacksonville, N.C., Daniel R. Hronchek of Holland, Mich., and Jeffrey J. Hronchek of Fort Worth, Texas. He is survived by his brother, Ronald A. Hronchek of Lady Lake, Fla.; two sisters, Kathleen J. (Anthony) Napolitan and Ruth Ann Hronchek of Indio, Calif.; and three grandchildren, Audrey, Reesa and Isaac.
Jim attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind., receiving his BS in electrical engineering technology in 1976. He joined with PR Mallory in Indianapolis, then subsequently moved to Kokomo in 1979, where he successively worked with Whitesell & Associates in electronics sales, Delco Electronics as an electronics test engineer, and Electronic Data Systems as an applied software specialist. He spent several years with Kimball Electronics in Jasper, Ind., then Hewlett Packard in Carmel, Ind., before opening his own engineering consulting firm in 2009. Jim was inventive and creative in electronics and embedded software, with several unique designs and innovations to his name.
A gifted guitarist, singer and songwriter, Jim acted as worship leader for area churches and organizations between 1980 and 2005. He heard music from heaven and published five albums between 1983 and 2000. Jim’s gifts, talents, giving heart and presence will be missed by his family, friends and co-workers.
Visiting with family and friends will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon followed by a memorial service beginning at noon Friday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Road, Kokomo, IN 46902.
Burial will take place in Little Eagle Creek Cemetery in Hamilton County, Ind.
