Dora M. Lenney, 1935-2013

CHAMPION – Dora May Lenney, 78, of Champion, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at St. Joseph Health Center with her family by her side.

She was born April 20, 1935, in Leavittsburg, the daughter of the late Kenneth C. and Gladys M. Artman Herlinger.

She married Leon D. “Ike” Lenney on Nov. 21, 1959, who preceded her in death on July 19, 2012.

She was a graduate of Leavittsburg High School in 1953 and was employed as an office manager for Dr. Edwin Westbrook and the Warner House.

Dora played the oboe in band and performed with the Packard Orchestra. She also bowled and played the organ. She was a loving, caring and giving person.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda Willis and Debbie (Mark) Nolfi, both of Champion; grandchildren Danielle Nolfi Estes, Hailey (Chris D’Avanzo) Montagna and David Willis; two great-grandchildren, Joseph Rock and Vincent Estes; a brother, Kenneth “Bud” (Dianne) Herlinger of Warren; and a sister, Norma (Earl) Caldwell of West Farmington.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leon; and two sons, Charles J. and David L. Lenney.

Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where Pastor James Dittmar will officiate. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in Champion Township Cemetery.

The family requests that material contributions be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512, in her memory.
