Dolores D. Hardman 1930-2013
SOUTHINGTON – Dolores D. “Dee” Hardman, 83, died Friday evening, Sept. 27, 2013, at Briar Hill Health Care in Middlefield.
She was born April 29, 1930, in Trumbull County, the daughter of the late Donald and Rose Soltis Donaldson. She has been a lifetime Trumbull County resident.
Dolores was a 1948 graduate of Chalker High School. She worked for nearly 20 years at Polson Rubber Company in Garrettsville as an inspector and splicer.
Dee was a member of Southington United Methodist Church. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Post No. 751 in Southington and was an avid bowler, having bowled on the afternoon league and the Friday Seniors Mixed Doubles league for many years at Rainbow Lanes. She loved visits from her Chalker classmates and other friends. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening and was a baseball and football fan.
Her husband of nearly 65 years, Leroy E. “Shorty” Hardman, whom she married on Sept. 11, 1948, preceded her in death on May 25, 2013.
She is survived by two sons, Robert (Karen) Hardman of Bristolville and Gary (Linda) Hardman of Southington; two grandchildren, Brian (Alyson) Hardman and Amie Hardman; three great grandsons, Brandon and twins Andrew and Aiden; and one brother, Donald B. Donaldson of Southington. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren and also one hour prior to the 11 a.m. service Tuesday at the funeral home. Pastor John Wolfe will officiate. Burial will be at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna.
