Cathy D. Stringer, 1950-2013
WARREN – Cathy Darlene Reed Stringer, 62, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at Windsor House of Liberty following an extended illness.
She was born Dec. 14, 1950, in Warren, the daughter of Wallace and Vera Callion Reed.
She attended Warren City Schools, graduating from Warren Western Reserve High School in 1969.
She married James Stringer Jr. on May 22, 1971. They were married for 35 years until his death in 2006.
Mrs. Stringer was employed for 31 years at Delphi Packard Electric in various positions, plants and departments.
She was a member of Second Baptist Church for many years. She later joined Agape Assembly Church.
Mrs. Stringer spent many hours reading, singing and laughing. She belonged to several book clubs and enjoyed fellowship with her many lifelong friends.
Cathy is survived by a son, Kevin (Lisa) Stringer of Warren; a daughter, Kimberly Stringer of Warren; two sisters, Lynda Golden-Martin and Rebecca Reed, both of Dayton; five grandchildren, Darien Bonner, Kierea Simms, and Kameron, Kodie and Donovan Stringer; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a son, Korey D. Stringer.
A service of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Agape Assembly Church, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Friends and family also may call at the home of her son, Kevin, at 1767 Southwest Blvd. in Warren.
Burial will take place in Pineview Memorial Park.
Services of comfort were entrusted to Sibley-Murray Funeral Home.
