Mary Anne R. Ughrin, 1938-2013

WADSWORTH- Mary Anne R. Ughrin, 75, passed away Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, at the Inn at Coal Ridge in Wadsworth.

She was born July 14, 1938, in North Bloomfield, the daughter of John and Anne Yerman Kozlevcar.

Mary Anne was a graduate of Kent State University with a degree in elementary education. She was a member of AARP, Ohio Retired Teachers and Trumbull County Retired Teachers.

She was an elementary school teacher at North Bloomfield and Champion for 11 years, a substitute teacher throughout Trumbull County for 13 years, and an organist at St. Mary Catholic Church in Orwell for nine years prior to moving to St. William Church.

She was a member of St. William Catholic Church, where she was the organist from 1977 to 1996, the NAIM Club and Golden Agers. She also was the the part-time parish secretary from 1993 to 2009.

She is survived by her children, John (Tina) Ughrin of Akron, Valerie (Timothy) Tanner of Waverly, Anne Ughrin of Akron and Sara (George) Mostoller of Wadsworth; grandchildren Victor and Kathryn Ughrin and Angelique and Scott Tanner; and a brother, Tom Kozlevcar of Cortland.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John J. Ughrin, whom she married Aug. 20, 1966, and who passed away April 22, 1995.

Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Road N.E., Warren, OH 44483, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at St. William Church in Champion.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Jeffrey Stealy officiating.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Orwell.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. William Catholic Church in Champion or Hospice of Medina County.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Inn at Coal Ridge of Wadsworth and Hospice of Medina County for making this last year one of the best Mary Anne ever had.
