Jennye Knapp 1919-2013

HUBBARD – Jennye Knapp, 93, died Thursday evening, Aug. 22, 2013, at Liberty Health Care.

She was born Dec. 4, 1919, in Hubbard, the daughter of Patsy and Theresa Marone Ross, and was a lifelong Hubbard resident.

Mrs. Knapp was a graduate of Hubbard High School.

She had worked for Truscon Steel during World War II as a ”Rosie the Riveter” and welded tank treads. She also worked for the Larry Brooks Store and Knapps Furniture Gallery.

Jennye was a member of St. Patrick Church and enjoyed crocheting and reading, and was an avid gardener.

Her husband, Anthony Carl Knapp Sr., whom she married Sept. 11, 1943, died Aug. 6, 1987.

She leaves a son, Anthony Carl (Karen) Knapp of Branson, Mo.; two daughters, Linda Davis of Hubbard and Donna (Bryan) Singleton of Hubbard; and two grandchildren, Andrew Carl Davis-Knapp of Hubbard and Kellye Singleton of Hubbard.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Hazel Rosile, Carmella Ross and Margaret Palazzo.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 9:15 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Church.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the Animal Welfare League Trumbull County Shelter, 545 Brunstetter Road S.W., Warren, OH 44481, or to the Small World Cat and Dog Rescue, 945 State St., Girard, OH 44420.

Interment will be in Hubbard Union Cemetery.
