Elizabeth Palenchar

NEWTON FALLS – Elizabeth Palenchar, 85, entered to eternal life on Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren.

Elizabeth was born on Nov. 19, 1927, in Newton Falls, the daughter of Paul S. and Mary A. Marsine Palenchar.

She attended the Newton Falls school system, graduating from Newton Falls High School in 1945.

She was affectionately known to family and friends as “Betsy.”

Elizabeth was a devoted parishioner of St. Mary and St. Joseph Parish in Newton Falls.

Elizabeth and her family were lifetime area residents, which provided her with the opportunity to have a special bond with her siblings. Enjoyable activities for Elizabeth were caring for her family, gardening and baking. She taught her cousin Christine and Christine’s daughter Brooke how to make a multicolor angel food cake.

Memories of Elizabeth will be carried on by her cousin and caregiver with whom she made her home, Mary Ann (Jim) Johnson; her cousins, Christine Leon and Brooke Leon; and her sister-in-law, Patricia Palenchar.

Preceding Elizabeth were her parents; her sisters, Martha E. Palenchar, Agnes Palenchar and Helen M. Palenchar; and her brothers, Paul J. Palenchar, John E. “Plink” Palenchar and Thomas M. Palenchar.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the St. Mary and St. Joseph Parish. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls.

Elizabeth will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Cemetery in Paris Township.
