Rev. Gerald Davison 1937-2013
WARREN – The Rev. Gerald Davison, 75, of Warren, died at 12:21 a.m. Sunday, June 23, 2013, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
He was born Oct. 29, 1937 in Lemont Furnace, Pa., a son of Alva and Lovenia McMahon Davison.
He married Wilma Jean Curran on July 1, 1961.
Gerald was a member of Delightful Evangelical Congregational Church, and an Evangelical Congregational Church pastor for 50 years, serving at churches in New Zion, Pa., Dixon and Rock Falls, Ill., and Youngstown, Mansfield, Delightful and Leavittsburg.
He had served on the board of trustees of The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation and had been President of the Findlay, Ohio Ministerial Association and served as Fire Chaplain.
Pastor Jerry impacted numerous lives for the Kingdom of God by his humble, servant’s heart of compassion and his faithfulness to preaching God’s Word. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his son, Gerald W. Davison Jr. of Warren, daughter, Anita K. (Rev. Mark) Hiehle, and their five children; Jonathan (Chelsey), Timothy, Jennifer, Kaylin and Kaleb Hiehle of Claremore, Okla., and Twila S. (Attorney William Michael) Dixon and their four children, Nathan (Kelly), Ethan, Anna and Rebecca Dixon of Bettendorf, Iowa; and one great-granddaughter, Shiloh Dixon. Also surviving are a brother, Kenny Davison of California; a sister, Rita Socie of Poland; and other family members.
In addition to his wife, Wilma Jean Davison, who passed away July 11, 2012, Gerald was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond, and a sister, Donna Leach.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where there will be a funeral at 3 p.m. Thursday with Pastor Mark Hiehle and Pastor Michael Garrison officiating.
