John T. Myk Jr. 1947-2013

WARREN – John T. Myk Jr., 65, entered into rest Saturday, June 15, 2013, at his residence following a lengthy illness.

John was born June 25, 1947, in Warren, the son of the late John T. and Sophie Lewandowski Myk Sr., and was a lifelong area resident.

He was a 1965 graduate of Leavittsburg High School and was a member of the Leavittsburg band.

John then entered the U.S. Air Force in October 1966 and was honorably discharged in February 1969. He served 13 months in the Vietnam War, receiving numerous campaign medals and commendations for his service to his country.

He was of the Catholic faith.

John was employed for 10 years at Packard Electric Corp. and Yermans TV Repair. Prior to his retirement, he worked many years as a self-employed contractor and could build and repair anything. He also enjoyed electronics, fishing and crafts in his spare time.

Memories of John will be remembered and cherished by those he leaves behind; his daughter, Cheryl Angeloff of Youngstown; brother, Norman (Shelia) Myk of Southington; brother-in-law, Robert Yerman of Howland; two grandchildren, Clara Marie and Tommy; and nieces and nephews and many friends who loved him. John also leaves behind his loving dog, Maggie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Juan Yerman; nephew, John Norman Myk.

A private family service will be held, and there will be no visitation.
