Ronald E. Anderson 1944-2013

LORDSTOWN – Ronald E. Anderson, 69, of Lordstown, passed on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at his residence due to a sudden illness following his battle with leukemia.

Ronald was born on April 29, 1944, in Poland, the son of Harold E. and Thelma Austin Anderson.

Ronald was a 1962 graduate of Poland High School.

His family relocated to Florida, where Ron had the opportunity to work in construction at the Daytona Speedway. Returning to Ohio, he had been employed as a mechanic at QEK in Lordstown.

Having swept Janet E. Mercer off her feet, Ronald and Janet were united in marriage on Nov. 24, 1976, in the Struthers Church of God.

Ronald was a 22-year member of the Leavittsburg Church of God.

Ron enjoyed attending car shows, auto racing and demolition derby events. Quiet time was spent outdoors or tending to his garden.

Memories of Ronald will be carried on by his loving wife, Janet; his beloved daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy (Pastor Brad) McBee and Ronda (Jeff) Koch; his adored grandchildren, Jason, Stephanie, David, Brittany, Seth, Simon, Trinity “Charlie,” McKayla, Hope and Abby; his sisters, Irma Colby, Shirley Bodine and Violet Huseman; and his brother, Allen Anderson.

The family has held a private ceremony at the Leavittsburg Church of God with Pastor Mark Rasey officiating.

The family requests that donations may be made in memory of Ronald to the Leukemia and Lymphona Society, to the Hope Center for Cancer Care in Howland or to the Hospice of the Valley.

Arrangements for Ronald were entrusted to the Borowski Funeral Service and Oak Meadow Cremation Services.
