John M. Flaminio 1923-2013

WARREN – John M. Flaminio, 89, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

John was born Oct. 17, 1923, the son of Frank and Josephine Flaminio.

John retired from Thomas Steel Strip Corp. as a pipefitter after 30 years. For the last 26 years, he was the co-owner with his son of Kracker Jacks Niteclub on Youngstown Road.

He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Parish (St. James Church).

John served in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, Carmella Flaminio, whom he married Sept. 29, 1951; four children, Frank (Helen) Flaminio of Warren, Joann Pennachio of Warren, Don (Michele) Flaminio of Howland and Tina (Frank) Kiepper of Howland; nine grandchildren, John, Marco, Erica, Dante, Gino, Shawnna, Alan, Alexis and Olivia; two great-grandsons, Caleb and Brandon; and his loving sister-in-law, Norma ” Auntie” Orsini of Warren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Don Flaminio Jr.; brother, Ralph Flaminio; and three sisters, Lena Pemberton, Josephine “Josie” and Rosanna Flaminio.

Family and friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. today at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Parish (St. James Church), 2532 Burton St. S.E., Warren, OH 44484. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. today at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Parish (St. James Church) with the Rev. James P. Walker officiating.

Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery, Cortland.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 6155 Rockside, Suite 202, Independence, OH 44131.
