Doris D’Amato 1932-2013

HOWLAND – Doris Hypes D’Amato, 80, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013, at the Shepherd of the Valley in Niles.

Doris was born July 15, 1932, in Marion, the daughter of Jason and Nelle Loper Hypes.

She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Warren, enjoyed cooking, baking, bingo and crocheting.

Prior to retirement, Doris worked as a housekeeper at St. Mary’s Rectory and the Howland Dairy Queen.

Doris is survived by her husband of 65 years, Anthony “Tony” D’Amato; two sons, Vincent (Stuart McBride) D’Amato of Greenville, S.C., and Mark D’Amato of Aberdeen, Md.; a daughter, Lisa (Rick Van Kirk) Haas of Warren; four grandchildren, Robert, Laurie, Amy and Michelle; and four great-grandchildren, Christopher, Jason, Daniel and Joshua.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Lane Family Funeral Home, Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Drive, Warren, OH 44483. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Blessed Sacrament Church, 3020 Reeves Road, Warren, OH 44483.

Entombment will follow in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the Blessed Sacrament Elementary School Scholarship Fund, 3020 Reeves Road, Warren, OH 44483.
