Daniel E. Bellew 1944-2013

SOUTHINGTON – Daniel E. Bellew, 69, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Hospice House in Poland.

Born May 7, 1944, in Niles, he was the son of Clifford and Mada Florence Carpenter Bellew.

Daniel served our country in the U.S. Air Force, during the Vietnam War, and was very proud of his military duty.

Daniel had worked with GM Lordstown for 10 years in the van plant.

He was an avid chess player and loved watching most sports, which included the Cleveland Indians, Browns, Ohio State, but mostly local and college events. He spent a lot of his time reading nonfictional books of war time.

Survivors include his fiancee, Huong Thanh Tran of Vietnam; daughter, Jill Bellew of Buffalo; a son, Daniel Jr. of Niles; a brother, Monte Bellew of Belpre; a sister, Elaine Minnich of Lorain; grandchildren, Robin, Christopher, Daniel III and Amber; and great-grandson, Teofilo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Vickie Drescher.

Private services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House in Poland and to the Wounded Warriors Foundation.
