Rose Principi, 1921-2013
WARREN – Rose Principi, 92, passed away at 10:35 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland.
Rose was born Feb. 17, 1921, in Warren, the daughter of Michele and Antonietta DiPerna.
Rose was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Warren.
She will be greatly missed but remembered by those she leaves behind. She is survived by three children, Gene (Judy) Principi of Fort Myers, Fla., Michael Principi of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Carol (Dennis) DelloStritto of Howland; four grandchildren, Joseph (Amy) Principi, Gina (Michael) Homant, Danielle (Nate) Mailach and David (Amy) DelloStritto; seven great-grandchildren, Molly Rose and Nick Principi, Ellie and Mitchell Homant, Mallory Rose Mailach, and Alexa Rose and Colin DelloStritto; one sister, Maggie (Earl) Hogenmiller of Warren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Joseph “Gigi” Principi, whom she married Oct. 15, 1938, and who passed away Aug. 9, 1981; a brother, Tony DiPerna; and two sisters, Louise Mosco and Angie Pagano.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Church with the Rev. Bernard Schmalzried officiating.
Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.
