John R. Lubert 1937-2013

WARREN – John Richard “Dick” Lubert, 76, entered peacefully into eternal rest Saturday, April 13, 2013, at his home.

Dick was born Feb. 2, 1937, in Warren, the son of the late Walter and Anne Trillow Lubert.

Dick was united into marriage with Rose Angela Moran on June 19, 1965. He was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and attended Purdue University. His first job was for the Tribune Chronicle as a paperboy. He delivered to 428 people daily for six years.

His next job was at Larry’s Squire Shop. In 1955, Dick went to work at Republic Steel. He then served two years in the Army stationed at Fort Knox. On his return from the service, he was recalled to work at Packard Electric and became a senior project engineer. Dick retired in 1991 after 34 years with the company.

Dick was a founding member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, where he was an usher. He was a life member of the West Highland White Terrier Club of Northern Ohio. He served the club as editor of the “The Highlander,” the monthly club newspaper. He was a member of the Sunny Croft Country Club in Clarksburg, W.Va.

Dick will be remembered and cherished by his wife, Rose. He also leaves three brothers-in-law and their spouses, John Michael Moran of Nottingham, Md., Paul (Martha) Moran of Ravenswood, W.Va., and Joseph (Sue) Moran of Fallston, Md., six nieces, six nephews, 12 great-nieces and 12 great-nephews. He will be deeply missed by his two West Highland white terriers: Hope and Dee Dee.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws: Michael and Marguerite Moran; sister-in-law; Betty Moran; nine aunts and two uncles.

Calling hours will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, 962 North Road N.E., Warren, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Thomas Eisweirth. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.
