Antoinetta Mayhugh Capito 1935-2013

WARREN – Antoinetta “Toni” Capito, 77, passed away Monday, April 15, 2013, at Gillette Nursing Home.

Antoinetta was born June 15, 1935, in Warren, the daughter of Guy and Rachel Capito.

She retired in 1995 from St. Joseph Health Center as a nurses aide after 30 years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church.

Antoinetta enjoyed gardening, fishing and rescuing animals.

She is survived by her children, Jan (Nick) Leonetti of Howland, Sherrie (Joe Benich) Weston of Warren, Richard Mayhugh of Masury, Jeffery (Honey) Mayhugh of Warren and Brian (Robin) Mayhugh of Bristol; 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Josephine Nicopolis of Warren and Anna Marie Pecorelli of Warren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Melissa “Missy” Mayhugh; daughter-in-law, Terry Mayhugh; son-in-law, James Weston; two brothers, Gregory D. and Guy J. “Pint” Capito; and a sister, Gloria Young.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and 9 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Church with the Rev. Bernard Schmalzried officiating.

Final resting place will be in All Souls Cemetery, Cortland.
