Mildred E. Branch 1922-2013

MINERAL RIDGE – Mildred E. Branch, 90, died Sunday, March 17, 2013, at her daughter Betty’s home surrounded by her family.

Mildred was born May 30, 1922, in Mineral Ridge, the daughter of the late George and Elsie Fusselman Parker.

Mildred was an avid bingo player and enjoyed spending time with her family, watching the Cleveland Indians and traveling to various casinos with her sister.

She was a former member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Ladies Fire Auxiliary of Mineral Ridge and was a member of the former United Methodist Church of Mineral Ridge.

Mildred will be dearly missed by her five children, Gloria (Elmer) Barney of Mineral Ridge, Betty Scheckelhoff of Mineral Ridge, Kathy Whitaker of Austintown, Debbie Branch of Mineral Ridge and Edward Branch Jr. of Mineral Ridge; her brother, Alfred Parker of North Port, Fla.; her sister, Bertha Sattler of Niles; seven grandchildren, John Scheckelhoff of Mineral Ridge, Linda (Frank) Page of Massillon, Michael Barney of Mineral Ridge, Glen Whitaker of Austintown, Susan Scheckelhoff of Mineral Ridge, Jerry (Jenifer) Branch of Mineral Ridge and Edward Branch of Mineral Ridge; and five great grandchildren, Robbie and Ryan Page of Massillon and Nevaeh, Kenadee and Jerry Branch of Mineral Ridge.

Mildred was preceded in death by the love of her life, Edward Branch, whom she married on July 22, 1942. Edward passed away on May 5, 1993. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Florence Bricker Parthemer and Bernice Miller.

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Lane Family Funeral Home, Mineral Ridge Chapel, where there will be services at 1 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Curtis Miller officiating.

Burial will take place at Kerr Cemetery.
