Angeline Martin 1915-2013
NILES – Angeline “Angie” Martin, 97, passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013.
Angie will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends.
She was born May 9, 1915, in Niles, the daughter of Vincenzo and Angelina Maselli Rizzi, and was a lifelong area resident.
She was a graduate of Niles High School,
Angie was an active member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Niles, and all its activities, along with being a member of the Mount Carmel Society.
She was a proud homemaker and was known for her excellent homemade Italian cooking and baking.
Her husband, Joseph Martin, whom she married Jan. 1, 1940, passed away April 30, 1988.
She leaves a son, John “Jack” (Carol) Martin; a grandson, Dr. Joseph (Kristin) Martin; a granddaughter, Nicole Martin; great-grandchildren, John “Jack,” Anna and Anthony; and a sister, Carrie Reigle.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Sam and Anthony Rizzi and Joseph Rich; sisters, Elizabeth Mitolo, Mary Pipino and Lucille Fio Rino; and several nephews and cousins.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Stephen’s Church in Niles with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio Jr. officiating, preceded by a 9:15 a.m. prayer service at the Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Road N.E., Warren.
Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where a prayer service will be held at 5:45 p.m. by the Mount Carmel Society and 7:45 pm by the Mount Camel Bereavement Committee.
Burial will take place in Niles City Cemetery.
