Jack E. Shaffer 1920-2013
NILES – Jack E. Shaffer, 92, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at Grace Woods Village in Niles surrounded by his family.
He was born Nov. 25, 1920, in Trumbull County, the son of the late Elmer and Nora Carr Shaffer.
Mr. Shaffer was a tool and die maker at Packard Electric Division of GM, retiring in 1983. He was one of the originators of the Seven-Seventeen Credit Union.
Jack was a member of Lordstown Evangelical Lutheran Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, playing pool, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara (Carl) Dengler of Howland; a son, Jack (Andrea) Shaffer of Livingston, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Hoffman of Niles.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca J. Shaffer; a daughter, Linda Robison Luoma; and a brother, Robert.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday.
Interment will be in Pine Knoll Cemetery.
