Robert L. Jamison Sr. 1937-2013
HOWLAND – Robert “Hillbilly” L. Jamison Sr., 75, passed away Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren.
He was born Jan. 24, 1937, in Fairview, W.Va., the son of the late Guy F. Jamison and the late Loma V. Ingram Jamison.
Robert graduated from Fairview High School and then graduated from Pittsburgh Barber College. He owned and operated a barber shop in Blacksville, W.Va. In 1965, Robert moved his family to Warren to take employment at Packard Electric. He retired in 2003 with 38 1/2 years of service. Robert was a member of Central Baptist Church of Niles. He was a 50-year member of Mannington Masonic Lodge 31 AFAM, a 32nd-degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of Tadmor Shrine.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia “Ginger” Williams Jamison, whom he married Jan. 15, 1960; two sons, Robert L. (Artha) Jamison Jr. of Uniontown and Jeff A. (Brenda) Jamison of Vienna; a sister, Zelda Jean Fortney of Medina; three granddaughters, Jessica L. and Victoria R. Jamison, both of Uniontown, and Elaina M. Jamison of Vienna; and by his “best buddy” and grandson, Ian F. Jamison of Vienna. Robert is also survived by many, much-loved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Guy Foster Jamison and Jack C. Jamison; two sisters, Martha E. Sole and Mary H. Campbell; and a grandson, Eric Robert Jamison.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel in Warren. Masonic services will be held at 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where the family will again receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Howland Township Cemetery.
