Robert E. DiTosti 1937-2013

CHAMPION – Robert E. DiTosti, 75, died at 8:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, in St. Joseph Health Center from complications of a stroke.

He was born Aug. 15, 1937, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of Bart J. and Genevieve DiTosti.

Robert grew up on Long Island, N.Y., graduated from Roslyn High School in 1955, and attended the Citadel Military Academy.

Robert came to the Warren area in 1958 and retired in 2007 as manager of installation service for Rockwell Automation in Mayfield Heights after 17 years.

He was a member of the Catholic faith and a member of the Pymatuning Yacht Club and its cruising and racing fleet for many years, and director of the Iron and Steel Engineers Association.

Robert enjoyed sailing and woodworking.

Survivors include his wife, Faye Di Tosti, whom he married April 30, 1960; children, Robert ”Rob” DiTosti Jr., at home loving caregiver, Christine (Dale) Laginya of Champion, David J. (Kimberly) DiTosti of Brookfield and Michelle Nigrin of Cortland; grandchildren, George, Gina and Magdalene Laginya, Tiffany Nigrin, and Samantha DiTosti; and a brother, Roy (Kristen) DiTosti of Stow, Mass.

His parents preceded him in death.

A private family service was held Thursday, officiated by the Rev. James P. Walker, at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren. Entombment was in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.
